10. !!!!!!!

Ten times I’ve done it.

Ten times I’ve said yes.

Ten times I’ve acted on my decision, got out there, strengthened my body and mind (even though they are one in the same but maybe we’ll get to that another time)

Ten times… if only Sesame Street’s The Count were here to celebrate this ‘Ten Party’ with me – yes it’s a variation on a Tea Party. There’s more thunder and lightning basically, oh and a muppet dude dressed as Dracula singing and dancing.

5K Park run… getting stronger all the time

Went hard after intense pilates yesterday – sore glutes! Very happy.

I must reflect just how sore my glutes were. My physio Tom, has a rather wicked sense of humour I think and decided to recommend I go to the ‘Power Reformer’ class which is code for ‘hardest Pilates class of all with lots of really fit strong young people. It’s the kind of class where you quickly learn just how much strain you can put on various parts of your body with no weights whatsoever. Thankfully I navigated almost toppling forwards at one point as I got used to a very freely moving bench thingo that you have to balance on. Well ok, let’s be honest, I didn’t so much navigate this as the experienced and knowing instructor came close when it came to that particular exercise and his supporting hand near my chest was the only thing saving me from doing a complete faceplant into the apparatus. I’m even laughing about it now picturing it happening. When I bobbled forwards, I hit his hand. Navigation complete. And he was lovely, he only smiled a little. I did note that appeared to be a bit more of a giggle on the fourth time.

Back to the run. I’m loving Perk Run (it’s actually called Park Run but that post explains why I call it ‘Perk Run’) and this was no exception as I get back close to dipping under 25 mins for 5k.
